The majority of people, even those living in the most developed countries, cannot comprehend what life will be like within the next ten years. However, this is an unavoidable reality that we will all face if we live long enough and therefore it could be beneficial to look at some of the more distant future projections and extrapolate from them about what our lives might be like. Unfortunately, speculation offers no guarantees as to whether or not these predictions become a reality but there are many different paths that humanity could take from where we currently stand. 1. The computer you carry around in your pocket will be as powerful as the one which took Apollo 11 to the moon

Nobody would dispute that computing power has advanced in extraordinary ways over recent years and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. However, the technology is still yet to become a truly mainstream fixture on everyone's home entertainment systems although based on current progressions it could easily be on course to do so within the next decade. Just last month, Microsoft unveiled its first-ever all-in-one VR/AR headset that makes it possible to experience both augmented and virtual realities from a single device which may help it become the first big player in this new market.

With new VR headsets being released at an increasingly faster pace than ever before, it's reasonable to assume that we may see this technology becoming more and more common in people's homes over the next few years.
